Privacy Policy

We recognize the importance of protecting our customers' personal information. We comply with Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information (the "APPI") and handle and protect personal information appropriately in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Definition of personal information

In this Privacy Policy, "personal information" means personal information as defined in Article 2, Paragraph 1 of the APPI: information about a living individual that can identify that specific individual by name, date of birth or other description contained in it (including information that can easily be matched with other information to identify the individual), or that contains an individual identification code.

2. Purposes of use

We use customers' personal information for the following purposes:

1. To provide our shop's services, including processing and shipping orders
2. To respond to inquiries and provide information about our services
3. To inform you about our products and services
4. To respond to conduct that violates our terms, policies, etc. (the "Terms")
5. To notify you of changes to the Terms
6. To improve our services and develop new ones
7. To create statistical data processed so that individuals cannot be identified
8. For other purposes incidental to the above

3. Changes to purposes of use

We may change the purposes of use within a scope reasonably recognized as related to the original purposes. If we do, we will notify you or make the change public.

4. Limits on use

Except as permitted by the APPI or other laws, we will not handle personal information beyond the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use without your consent, except in the following cases:

1. When required by law
2. When necessary to protect a person's life, body or property and it is difficult to obtain your consent
3. When especially necessary to improve public health or promote the healthy development of children and it is difficult to obtain your consent
4. When necessary to cooperate with a national or local government body (or its delegate) performing duties prescribed by law, and obtaining your consent could interfere with those duties

5. Proper acquisition

We acquire personal information properly and never by deception or other improper means.

6. Security

We supervise our staff as necessary and appropriate to keep personal information safe from loss, destruction, alteration and leakage. When we outsource all or part of the handling of personal information, we supervise the contractor as necessary and appropriate to ensure it is kept safe.

7. Provision to third parties

Except where disclosure is permitted under the APPI or other laws, we will not provide personal information to third parties without your prior consent. The following cases are not considered provision to a third party:

1. When we outsource all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use
2. When personal information is provided as part of a business succession due to a merger or other reason
3. When personal information is used jointly as provided under the APPI

8. Outsourcing and transfer outside Japan

Our online shop and checkout run on a platform provided by Shopify Inc., which is based in Canada. Information you enter at checkout (name, address, phone number, email address, order details and payment information) is processed and stored by Shopify. Canada protects personal information under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Email addresses you register to receive coupon codes and news are also processed and stored by Shopify. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in each email.

We also share the name, address and phone number needed for delivery with the shipping carrier.

9. Disclosure

When you request disclosure of your personal information under the APPI, we will confirm that the request comes from you and disclose it without delay (or notify you if no such information exists), unless we are not obliged to do so under the APPI or other laws.

10. Correction

When you request correction, addition or deletion of your personal information under the APPI on the grounds that it is untrue, we will confirm that the request comes from you, investigate without delay within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use, make any correction based on the results, and notify you (including if we decide not to make a correction), unless we are not obliged to do so under the APPI or other laws.

11. Suspension of use

When you request that we stop using or delete your personal information under the APPI on the grounds that it is being handled beyond the published purposes of use or was obtained by deception or other improper means, and the request is found to be justified, we will confirm that the request comes from you, stop using or delete the information without delay and notify you, unless we are not obliged to do so under the APPI or other laws.

12. Cookies and similar technologies

Your cart contents are stored in your browser's local storage and are not sent to any server until you proceed to checkout. The Shopify checkout uses cookies needed to process your order. This site does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features, including checkout, may then not work.
